The existing shape, surface condition and intended result set the direction. A colour reference tells only part of the story: panel boundaries, grain and the way adjacent pieces meet also need to be considered.
A line with a reason.
A seam may follow a curve, define an edge or divide two materials. The right treatment depends on the design and the construction. Details should support the interior as a whole rather than compete for attention.
The project conversation.
A useful enquiry includes overview photographs, close-ups and the vehicle or vessel details. From there, discuss inspection, scope, material samples, cost and the arrangements for work directly with the atelier. Timing is confirmed for each project, never assumed from a gallery image.
