When the fabric is coming away.
Sagging fabric may involve the material, underlying layers or the headliner board. Photographs help identify the visible problem but cannot show every hidden condition. We assess the construction before proposing the appropriate upholstery work.
Prepare a useful first view.
Include one image of the whole roof, close-ups of the affected areas and the edges around lights and roof openings. Tell us whether your goal is to address wear or create a new look.
A sagging headliner needs a closer assessment
A loose headliner may involve more than the visible fabric. Photograph the entire roof and the areas that have dropped, including edges around the sunroof and overhead console. The condition of the backing and the surface beneath the fabric affects the preparation required. Let us know if the car has previously had roof work or signs of moisture so the upholstery proposal reflects the actual condition.
Coordinate the roof with the pillars
A darker headliner changes how the upper cabin is perceived. Consider the A, B and rear pillars, visors and handles alongside the roof rather than choosing its color alone. Some pieces may remain in their original finish; identify those transitions at the start. Material texture and seam placement need to suit the shape of the roof and the openings already present.
